What
are tatting clothes and hosiery?
Tatting clothes:
Tatting clothes refer to the clothes made
of the tatting fabric such as woolen cloth, silk and cotton. In
tatting, twisted thread are tied around or through small pointed
shuttles that are made of bone, mother-of-pearl, steel, or plastic.
The textures processed in this way can be designed, cut and tailored
into many kinds of clothes with varieties of shapes with desirable
colorful printing according to different functions of clothes
in relation to the quality, thickness and fine texture. It is
quite flexible. Owing to the limitation of the crafting framework
and the nature of shuttle machine, the producing cycle is quite
long and not apt to the demand of the market.
Hosiery:
Hosiery generally refers
to the clothes knitted by knitting machines. There are different
knitting machines such as circular machines to knit gray cloth,
sock and stocking knitting machines and glove machines. Hosiery
is full fashioned without any cutting. The working of knitting
machine is highly related to the number of needles, stitch density
and gauge and quantity of finishing additives.
